ISVIB – VC&RI Namakkal
Silver Jubilee
Student Travel Grant award

Eligibility : All UG & PG Veterinary students

The award is instituted in 2009 by HAU, Hisar, given to students who are coming to present their research work in the ISVIB Annual convention. The candidate should send the application to the Secretary ISVIB through the Head of the institution he is studying along with the acceptance letter for his/her abstract from the convention organizing secretary. Awards will be given to two students each year. The selected candidates will be given travel expenses from their institution to the place of the Annual convention and back by train, registration fees and three days accommodation charges subject to a maximum of Rs.5000/- (Rs. Five thousands only) per student on production of bills. This award is effective from the XVIII Annual convention of ISVIB.


ISVIB - Student Travel
Grant Award

Eligibility : PG/Ph.D students in the disciplines of Veterinary Microbiology, Immunology and Biotechnology

The award is given to students who are coming to present their research work in the ISVIB Annual convention. The candidate should send the application to the Secretary ISVIB through the Head of the institution he is studying along with the acceptance letter for his/her abstract from the convention organizing secretary. Awards will be given to two students each year. The selected candidates will be given travel expenses from their institution to the place of the Annual convention and back by train (sleeper class), registration fees and three days accommodation charges subject to a maximum of Rs.3000/- (Rs. Three thousands only) per student.


ISVIB Scientist Award

The award was created from the funds provided by the organizers of the convention in 2003 by Madras Veterinary College. The awards would be given to one best research article published in national/international journal with high impact factor and citation index. The life members of ISVIB are alone eligible to apply for the award irrespective of age and cadre. First author and coauthors of research paper are eligible to apply for the awards. The award winners are also eligible to apply for consecutive awards based on their new publications,. The first author should submit the reprint of the paper along with its citation index and impact factor. The head of the department/institution head should certify that the work has been carried out in their institute and not in foreign countries. The work should have been done in India within the preceding three years in the area of Veterinary Immunology and or Biotechnology. Three years will be reckoned from the date of holding the symposium each year. The published work should contribute to knowledge or leads to technical inventions useful to industry, farmers and line departments. The award would be selected by a panel of three eminent scientists based on citation index and impact factor of the journal in which the article is published. ISVIB reserves the right to defer the award of if suitable research articles are not submitted for the award.


ISVIB Young Scientist / Mid
CareerScientist Award.

Age of the participant should not be more than 35 years (young scientist award) as on the first day of the convention. Abstract should be submitted to the organizing Secretary of the respective convention before the convention date through heads of the institution where he or she has completed the research work along with a bonafide certificate from the Head of the Institute to the effect that the research has been carried out by the Scientist independently. Independent research work carried out as a project or a scheme or departmental research, P.G research are eligible for consideration. The research should have been carried out during the preceding 5 years. The research should have been carried out in India and should not have been published in any journal. The young/mid career scientists who apply for the award will be requested to present their papers in front of a judging committee at the annual convention of ISVIB. Only life members of ISVIB are eligible to apply for the award. Evidence for the date of birth should be enclosed along with the application. ISVIB reserves the right to defer the award if suitable candidates are not available in the particular year and the decision of ISVIB will be final.


F.M. Burnett Memorial Award.

Instituted by Dr. B. Umanath Rao in 2004 at the convention held in 2004 at IVRI, Muktheeswar. Open to all the members of the Society. It is for team research between departments/ disciplines /institutes . The work should not have been published. First author gets the medal and the certificate. The team members, ie., the other authors get the certificate only. There is no age limit. The number limit of authors is left to the committee (Selection). The department address of all the authors should be taken into account. It is an inter disciplinary award. If no papers are eligible the committee can defer the award. Work should have been done in India. The first author should be a life member of ISVIB. There are no age criteria for this award. In the same symposium / convention the first author should not receive any other ISVIB award and/or medal. In the work, there should be recommendation of the Head of the Institute/s.


Dr. Linghard Memorial Award.

It is an Individual award. Instituted from the funds donated by IVRI , MUktheswar the organizers of the convention in 2004. The conditions are :

1. Age limit : Below 50 years ( on the convention date )
2. Area : Viral immunology and related biotechnology
3. Product oriented research as shown by Product development by virtue of patency / commercialization / external validation.

The person should be a life member of ISVIB. If the committee is not conclusive, the award will be deferred. It will not be carried forward to next year. Committee will be constituted in the convention.conditions like the work should have been undertaken in India, within the previous three years, should not receive any award in the same convention etc., will apply.


GADVASU Women Scientist Award

Individual award

1. Reserved for women. No age limit.
2. Area : Immunology and Biotechnology

The person should be a life member of ISVIB. Committee will be formed at the time of convention and decide. If inconclusive the award will be deferred. It will not be carried forward to next year. Other standard conditions like the work should have been carried out in India, within the previous three years, should not receive any award in the same convention , recommendation of the head of the Institutee etc., will apply.

In every convention, three awards are given to the scientists selected among the posters, by a committee constituted at the convention.
